Whether the past was good or bad, it has already passed. The past should have little to do with our present life. If we dwell in the circumstances of the past, we lose hope for the future. Similarly, whether the future is good or bad, it has not yet arrived. The future is unpredictable; perhaps dancing with joy leads to hardship, while trembling with fear might lead to a beautiful situation. We must face the present, whether it is good or bad. If there is happiness, enjoy it; if there are difficulties, solve them with heart; if there are opportunities, grasp them firmly.
Do not pursue a friend's flaws, do not leak their secrets, and do not hold their mistakes against them. One who tempts you with honey is not a good friend; one who advises you with sincere words is a true friend. True friends do not demand things from each other to maintain friendship, but rather do everything possible for each other. Many people who appear to be friends are not, while many true friends do not appear as such. Friendship in this world is rare, and equal friendship is even harder to find.
Even in safety, think of danger; when idle, seek pleasure; even if healthy, get a checkup; even if not thirsty, drink water; even when right, yield to others; even when in power, stay low-key; even if not tired, rest; even if not rich, be content; even if not happy, be composed; even when busy, exercise; even when popular, stay low-key; even when annoyed, keep your dignity; even when difficult, persist; even when bitter, endure; even when poor, have ambition; even when weak, have bone; even when famous, beware of turning purple (excessive success); practice action through self-cultivation. Life is a casino; we are always betting. We win or lose, grieve or rejoice. No smile is eternal, and no cry needs to last.
When a friend ignores you, do not be sad. Everyone has their own life, and no one can accompany you forever. The reason you feel lonely is not because no one cares, but because the person you care about the most is not caring about you.
