Grand ambitions fuel the passion of life. Just as mountains stand firmly on the earth, humans stand on their aspirations. Without grand ambitions, how can one expect the brilliance of life? A vibrant life requires the companionship of great aspirations. Set a goal for yourself and a hope for the future. Because of youth, even the most ambitious dreams will not become a laughing stock; because of youth, life is filled with passion. Ambition and passion are the two wings of great deeds.
A man became even more attentive to his wife after marriage than he was before. At a gathering, a friend teased him, “Why are you still so affectionate after marriage?” He smiled and replied, “Before marriage, many men wanted to pursue her and treated her well. I had to treat her even better to win her heart. After marriage, fewer men are willing to treat her well. I must treat her even better to prevent her from feeling neglected.” Upon hearing this, all the friends fell silent. There was no mockery, only admiration.
We always hope for perfection, hoping that all opportunities arrive simultaneously and that our entire path is filled with clear skies and birdsong. Yet we fail to realize that the pursuit of perfection itself is a form of extreme imperfection. Regarding happiness, I have always believed in an old fairy tale: on a full moon night, the moon feels sad. In reality, about 90% of events in our lives are good, while 10% are bad. If you want to live happily, focus your energy on the 90% of good things. If you choose to worry and strain yourself, or even develop ulcers, then direct your energy toward the 10% of bad things.
