Showing off intelligence is not as good as hiding wisdom. Be a "foolish" person who is actually wise, practicing the art of concealing one's talents and acting as if lacking in wisdom. This "foolishness" is not true stupidity, but a strategic weakness to gain sympathy and cleverly hide one's strength. Do not become arrogant when successful, and do not let your emotions show on your face. Focus on the small things, be "foolish" in trivial matters, and thus better plan one's future.

Some people live in a stable environment but their hearts are in flux; others live in flux, but their hearts are calm. In a lifetime, one will inevitably experience the joy of heavenly beings, the numbness of animals, the anger of asuras, the hunger of hungry ghosts, and the sorrow of hellbeings. It seems that only after experiencing all these emotional states can the inner self truly find peace. What is called flux is a search without direction, carrying the hope of shaking hands with the god of fate.
