The benevolent are often schemed against by petty people; the wise are frequently squeezed out by the mediocre; the brave are often envied by the dull; and the honest are regularly attacked by the greedy. A slight pressure feels like the end of the world; a moment of unhappiness convinces one to be the most pitiful person in existence. Such fragility often stems from having been spoiled in the past, having others shield you from the wind and rain, and having others stand strong on your behalf.
From now on, every choice you make must ensure that you will be happier than you are today.
Someone who truly wants to see you home will find any direction convenient. Someone who wants to eat with you will enjoy every flavor, bitter or sweet. Someone who wants to meet you has time at any hour; someone who wants to help you will use every means available. To those who like you, you are perfect as you are; to those who do not, nothing you do is enough. If others do not value you, why should you keep them in your heart? Let this encourage us all.
One day, we will all understand that the person we must love first is always ourselves. At the end of every dead end lies a sky in another dimension. When there is no path forward, the force that compels you to rise up into the air is a miracle.
"Wisdom" often comes with significant side effects. It stirs up the matters we face, making them more complex. It acts as a barrier between us and the world, forcing us to engage with a world that we could otherwise perceive directly only indirectly through this "middleman." As wisdom becomes more powerful, it may even escape our control. At that point, our needs may be distorted to serve the needs of "wisdom" itself, causing us to forget what we truly need, and potentially losing our very selves.
