There is a saying that goes, "Only by cherishing do we deserve to possess." This is profoundly true. If a person does not know how to cherish what they already have, what is the point of possessing more? In fact, they are not even worthy of ownership. Therefore, when we are eager to acquire new things, we should first make every effort to cherish what we currently have. Otherwise, even if we eventually get what we want, how does that matter? Among all that we possess, I believe the most important are family bonds, friendships, and other vital emotional connections in this world, all of which deserve our deep appreciation. Please stop complaining that your parents cannot provide a lavish material foundation or blaming them for lacking education. Admittedly, they may not be the first generation of the wealthy, nor can they make you an enviable "second-generation rich" heir. However, they have done their utmost to raise you, providing a comfortable home. Even if it is just a small rural house without luxurious decoration, it is precisely this unadorned space that has given you a safe and comfortable environment for growth. They may not have attended university or understood literature, unable to offer you profound literary influence or deep life enlightenment, but they have given everything they have. As farmers, after a day of hard labor, Mom would help you read the textbook passages you didn't understand, although this only lasted until the seventh grade, when her literacy was no longer better than yours. It was Mom's exceptional dedication that laid a solid foundation for you. As Mom said, "Child, my abilities are limited; from now on, you must rely on yourself for your studies. Keep going." Dad is no different; he has always encouraged me, using his eager gaze to tell me to move forward bravely and his tears of joy to show how happy he is to see my growth. Through their hard work, they tell us not to worry—just keep moving forward, for Mom and Dad will support us with their greatest effort. How can such love not make one happy? How many people long for such happiness?
Family love requires us to cherish and be grateful with our hearts. Is friendship any different? As the saying goes, "True friendship is tested in adversity." When you are in a difficult situation, having a friend by your side to listen to your complaints and help you resolve problems with extra care is a great blessing. Therefore, when a friend faces difficulties, we must be their solid support. Of course, misunderstandings or conflicts may arise between friends. In such cases, it is essential to communicate promptly and resolve issues with extra care, for friendship is hard-won and must be cherished deeply.
