Stepping through the gates of Xinyu No. 1 Middle School, I felt an unprecedented sense of nervousness. I bid farewell to middle school and welcomed the call of high school. Looking back, my middle school life seemed so enjoyable and perfect. My mind kept replaying scenes of my older siblings during their high school years; their lives were a mix of hardship and joy.
I have officially become a high school student. I didn't expect the pace of high school to be so tense and busy. I was assigned to Class 1, Grade 10, which is the top class in the school. I originally assumed that the atmosphere in a top class would be intense and filled with a strong learning environment, but at first, I failed to sense such an atmosphere.
The learning atmosphere in the class did not seem as vibrant as I had anticipated. Classes were occasionally noisy. Since I sat in the last row, I could neither see the blackboard clearly nor hear the teacher well...
Although I sometimes couldn't help but ask classmates questions during class, and despite my grades not being excellent at the moment, I promise to study hard...
It has been several days since the military training ended. During those brief three days, I learned patience and focus. Throughout the training, I felt exhausted and annoyed. This feeling is quite similar to studying; sometimes it feels boring and tedious, causing me to zone out in class.
Gradually, I am beginning to adapt to high school life, though full assimilation still takes time. I will strive to adapt to this new lifestyle and fight for admission to my ideal university!
