There was once a man who wanted to study medicine but was hesitant. He asked a friend, "In four years, I will be 44. Is it too late?" The friend replied, "Why wouldn't it be? Even if you don't study medicine, you will still be 44 in four years." This realization struck him, and he signed up the very next day.
A neighbor of mine had once gone into business with a partner. However, a storm hit their cargo ship, and all their assets, including their dreams, sank to the bottom of the sea. Unable to cope with the blow, he fell into a deep depression, appearing lost and listless. When he saw another partner who had shared the same misfortune living a vibrant and joyful life, he asked him why. The man replied, "Whether you spend your days in sorrow and resentment, or in joy and happiness, time passes just the same. Which one do you choose?"
Reflection: As a poem says, "Whether you cherish them or loathe them, the flowers strive to bloom." Indeed, flowers always strive to bloom, and wonderful days continue to flow by. Dear friend, will you merely endure each day in pain, or will you choose to live every day with joy?
