Many people are dominated by external forces or have their hearts tainted by the outside world, becoming accomplices to an ugly reality. Cultivation requires holding firmly to the most beautiful parts of our hearts and facing all the ugliness of the world with a positive attitude.
1. A despondent shadow appears more weathered in confusion, clutching past pains and refusing to let go; time ruthlessly cuts the hands, leaving only a sense of cruelty and pain.
2. All achievements, whether in business, academia, or spirituality, are the result of guided thought. They are governed by the same laws and methods; the only difference lies in the goals they pursue.
3. Life's three reefs: complacency, arrogance, and gullibility; three prohibitions: lust, strife, and greed; three aversions: lying, slander, and snobbery; three virtues: profound knowledge, habitual thinking, and noble character!
4. Without vision, there is no realm; without a realm, there is no breadth of mind; without breadth of mind, one cannot embrace the world. Without kindness, there is no sympathy; without sympathy, there is no tolerance; without tolerance, one cannot embrace others. Without wisdom, there is no insight; without insight, there is no intelligence; without intelligence, one cannot be virtuous. Treat people as friends, and all can be friends; treat people as enemies, and all can be enemies. Being kind to others is being kind to yourself; being hostile to others is being hostile to yourself. Learn from others' strengths to grow; see others' flaws to remain humble.
5. Life is but a season of plants; a hundred years is not long. Cherish every moment and do not dwell on negativity. Setbacks are inevitable; suffering minor grievances, criticism, or hardship is part of life. Do not view these as others acting against you, for they are life's lessons from above. Without them, how could we learn strength, tolerance, and composure? The rugged or winding paths of life are often the most unique landscapes.
6. The brave are fearless, the wise are undazzled, and the benevolent are worry-free. The brave are not without fear, but their pursuit far outweighs their dread; the wise see through the changes of the universe and remain indifferent to fame and fortune; the benevolent possess a heart for all, embracing others through love and finding peace through non-contention.
7. Joy and sorrow eventually become the past. Amidst life's ups and downs, do not forget your true feelings and conscience. No matter how poor or unsuccessful, maintain sincerity; no matter how wealthy or successful, do not lose your integrity. Not every devotion leads to a perfect ending, and not every encounter blossoms into a beautiful landscape.
8. Friendship is most beautiful when it is neither too close nor too far. Too close, and the mystery is lost, leading to mutual torment; too far, and communication fails, making you strangers. The best friendship is one of moderate distance.
9. Life is a journey of both hardship and scenery. Your perspective defines your realm. Seeing those more excellent than yourself means you are climbing; seeing those less capable means you are descending. Rather than complaining, seek change. Rather than relying on fate, seek your own answers.
10. Everyone has their own pursuits, whether wealth, fame, power, love, or ideals. The difference lies in action. Successful people share one trait: they dare to think and dare to act. When facing a challenge, do not hesitate. Indecision only leads to stagnation; only through action and constant adjustment can great things be achieved.
11. Life is like a jar of wine, and everyone is a brewer. Some brew life into fine wine, savoring its sweetness, while others brew it into bitter liquor, chewing on their misfortunes.
12. To miss someone does not require hearing their voice. Imagination is often more beautiful than reality, and longing can feel closer than the present moment.
13. Your potential is like your consultant. If you trust it, it works harder for you; if you distrust it and rely on external things, it will drift away and vanish when you need it most.
14. View the world with detachment, and you will see wealth is like passing clouds; approach life with contentment, and you will realize troubles stem from worldly desires.
15. Philosophy of Non-Attachment: Without contention, vital energy remains intact; without fear, wisdom shines bright; without anger, all spirits are harmonious; without worry, the heart remains cool; without seeking, one remains dignified; without attachment, one can be both flexible and firm; without greed, wealth and health are secured; without compliance, who fears a king! Height determines career; depth determines intelligence; width determines philosophy; breadth determines thinking; speed determines efficiency; strength determines ability; angle determines direction; scale determines success.
16. What is unattainable seems vital, while what is easily gained becomes trivial. This is human nature. Life is like a train ride; even the most beautiful scenery recedes, and time and people eventually fade away, leaving only the self moving forward.
17. Life is full of imperfections; gaining one thing often means losing another. The key is knowing what you truly need. Chasing two rabbits often results in catching none.
18. Most lives are ordinary and plain, yet truth is hidden within that simplicity. Shift your gaze from the material to give your soul and spirit a home.
19. Do not treat fate as a burden. Every blooming flower and every green leaf has its own power. Troubles are not imposed by others but arise from within. Cleanse your heart of dust; when your mind becomes sunny, the sorrows of the world will no longer weigh on you.
20. The friction of adversity and the mastery of the strong are like the collision of positive and negative charges, sparking the fire of victory. Misfortune tempers our character, and failure opens the first door to success.
