People often ask: Do others think we are successful? Do we think we are successful ourselves? So what exactly is success? Many people immediately think of wealth, status, or fame, but these are only a few of the many forms success can take.
In essence, success more directly means completing or achieving a goal. Since goals are set by individuals, the judgment of whether they are achieved should also vary from person to person. Therefore, success is largely determined by one’s own evaluation and understanding of oneself.
In a sense, success is self-affirmation, while failure is often defined by others’ judgments. However, in real life, we often see contradictions: sometimes others believe we are highly successful while we feel we are still lacking; at other times, others may see us as unsuccessful, yet we feel calm, satisfied, and at peace.
No one has the authority to define which kind of success counts as success and which does not. There is no single standard for success. It is diverse and subjective, ultimately rooted in each individual's inner judgment and self-recognition.
