Looking back at the passing years, all past events—whether beautiful, sorrowful, joyful, or sad—are folded into a yellowed letter with the cycle of seasons. The world is as hazy as smoke and as blurred as rain. Where does the smoke come from? Where does the rain come from? In reality, the smoke and rain are but illusions of the mind; the world remains the same, and the human realm remains unchanged.
When the road is blocked, choose to detour; when the heart is unhappy, choose to let go; when feelings fade, choose to be indifferent. Some things pass once you endure them; some people are forgotten once you steel your heart; some hardships dissolve with a smile; and some hearts become stronger through heartache.
It is better to die standing for truth than to live kneeling for a meager existence.
