I am Feng Min, a junior student majoring in Hotel Management in the Department of Foreign Languages, class of 20xx. In XX, like many of my peers, I entered Guilin Aerospace Institute with great anticipation for university life.
Although there is a gap between my ideal and reality, and what I experienced differed slightly from my initial imagination, after a period of study and life here, I have come to realize that there are many people and things on campus worth striving for and cherishing. This is perhaps due to the help and support I have received from teachers, classmates, and friends in various aspects.
I do not come from a poor mountainous area, but from an ordinary rural family. My parents are both common workers who support our family and fund my brother's and my education with their hard and steady work. Consequently, their health is not in the best condition; my mother, in particular, has suffered from chronic pharyngitis, often coughing through the night. Although I am now an adult, I feel I have done little to contribute to the family. I often think that after graduation, when I start earning, I can help reduce the burden on my family. However, my parents are not overly demanding; as long as I learn how to conduct myself in society and how to act in a practical and down-to-earth manner, they are satisfied.
Since entering university, I have made significant growth and progress in many aspects. Therefore, I would like to apply for the National Encouragement Scholarship. Below is a summary of my performance since enrollment.
In terms of academics, in my first semester, my grade ranking was only average within my class. However, through my hard work in the second semester, my grades improved significantly and are now ranked first in my class. While academic performance does not define my entire being, and the diligence of my professional teachers also plays a role, I know that I possess the ability to learn and continuously improve. I look forward to making further progress.
