In 1992, while studying at the Economics Department of Sichuan University, she met her future husband, Lü Chenggong, who was her tutor at the time. During a group discussion, Lü Chenggong's profound knowledge and ability to link domestic and international financial phenomena left everyone, including Wang Xiaoya, in awe. She began to seek his company more often to discuss economics, and Lü Chenggong was deeply drawn to her pure and beautiful demeanor.
Like many college students, they shared simple joys—eating in the canteen, strolling on campus, watching movies, and enjoying outings. They were very happy together.
After graduation, the two were married.
However, as the years passed, Lü Chenggong's business flourished and Wang Xiaoya's fame grew, yet the couple found themselves drifting further apart.
In 2001, while Lü Chenggong was in Beijing for a trade event, the two took a walk under the city's beautiful night sky, but neither could find the words to speak.
